Hey, Kourtney! I really liked how you talked about farming in your autobiography. Growing up--and to this day--my parents always have grown a garden full of organic produce in our yard. It really comes in handy with my celiac and you are so right, the commercially grown produce is for the birds! I was especially fascinated about your time working at the maximum security prison in Jackson. What would you say was the most eye-opening experience you had during your time there?
Hello, Kourtney! You have had quite the interesting life! I noticed on our email sheet it says you are concentrating in History, so I was wondering: why did you decide to choose a concentration in History rather than in Political Science, which you majored in? I know that they're fairly closely related fields, but I was just wondering what led to that decision.
Hey Kourtney, I really enjoyed reading your bio! I really admire your decision to leave your job in order to pursue education. How do you think your experience with the Department of Corrections will affect your teaching style?
Hey Kourtney! I enjoyed reading your biography and look forward to getting to know you more this year. My question for you is which level would you prefer to teach (middle or high school) and why?
Wow, I think your students will be so intrigued by your background! I LOVE homegrown vegetables but have never really learned how to do it right nor had the space in college. I was wondering if your family ever brings the vegetables to the farmers market to sell .
Hello Kourtney! I took Criminal Justice during my undergrad and I found it really interesting. Seeing as you have a lot of experience with the criminal justice system, is there anything you would want to change about it? During my class I learned that the United States is spending a lot of money to keep people in jail for crimes that are not that serious, and I was just wondering if you think there is anything that should be changed regarding the system.
Hi Kourtney, I enjoyed reading about your life on the farm and your police work. Do you think farming could influence the youth that you teach to stay out of trouble? It seems like good, honest work in the yard helps students stay grounded. It might be cool to teach them something about farming in hopes that it would give them something constructive to do.

ReplyDeleteHey, Kourtney! It sounds like you've had some awesome experiences. What was your favorite part about being a deputy? What was your least favorite?
ReplyDeleteKourtney, that is quite a bio. Other than the obvious ways, in what ways did you not expect, in working for the Dept of Corrections, have on you?

Also, do you still do any farming?
