Hi, Baneza! I enjoyed reading your autobiography! As a literary gal, it is always nice to see that the plots that so many novels have been written about can be a real-life fairytale. I'm not a skilled artist by any means, but I took several ceramics classes in high school, finding that to be my favorite. Are you more into sculpting or throwing on the wheel?
Hey Baneza, your outlook on life is really impressive to me! I admire your relationship with your parents and your open-mindedness-being flexible enough to take ceramics instead of painting and end up loving it. Have you always been so open-minded? And how do you think that will affect your teaching style?
Yes. I'm open minded. I'm always willing to do new things. I think that this will allow me be more creative in my teaching style. I'm all about doing things by inspiration. I think that this will motivate my students.
Hey, Baneza! I remember standing behind you in line for graduation! I really enjoyed reading your autobiography and getting to know more about you. It sounds like you and your family are pretty close. I was wondering, what are your brothers like? What are they studying in college and what schools do they go to?
What! It's a small world! My brothers are fun. One is going to SCAD Atlanta. He's also an artist. He is studying animation. The other just began college. He's the complete opposite. He's studying business and accounting.
Hey Baneza! I really enjoyed reading your biography and look forward to getting to know you more this year. My questions for you are how do you plan on inspiring your students as an art teacher and what level would you prefer to teach at (middle or high school)?
Baneza, from which part of Mexico is your family from? Also, I moved from SoCal as well to the south, a town just outside Oceanside called Fallbrook. Have you ever heard of it? Also, do you miss SoCal ever? Even if your situation may not have been too great ... I do, but I never lived in LA, I'm not sure I'd of liked that at all. JF
Nope, haven't heard of Fallbrook. But yes I miss LA. I usually go back often to visit family. I think that what I miss the most is how much my culture has influenced the city. I'm from a part of the city where it's mostly Hispanics, so being around that culture feels like home. I don't see that a lot here in Milledgeville.
I tutored Art and Spanish. Usually my teachers kids. Sometimes they were my age but usually 5-7 year olds. I really liked it. It's how I discovered that I wanted to be a teacher one day.
Hello Baneza! I read that you tutored kids in Spanish and that your parents are from Mexico. What was your first language? Have you always been bilingual or did you acquire Spanish or English as you grew up?

ReplyDeleteI'm more of a pottery wheel person. I think making functional ceramics for everyday use is what drives me to make my work.
