  2. Have you or anyone you know ever tried EFT? If so, what were the results?

  3. Let's get Joe to try it. If he is willing to hook electrodes to his head, surely he will be willing to do this.

    1. YES! I would never try it because it just seems like some new hippie theory that doesn't have any proof yet. However, Joe can get back to us about it and if he says it works I'll think about it!!

  4. How do you think you could best use a combination of knowledge of CPS and facts from "How the Brain Influences Behavior"/"Ignite" in your classroom?

    1. One thing that I've noticed during placement, is a consistent documentation of student behaviors throughout the week. Maybe having students keep their own records of their behavior in the classroom could help students do some meta-cognitive thinking about their emotions. Having students journal or log how they are feeling towards you (their instructor) and peers, could help resolve behavioral issues before they start. The log could be a great way for students to vent and express their frustrations.

  5. Are there any downsides to trying to control your emotions during learning process? How could those negatives manifest themselves within students in the classroom?

    1. I think it would be good to use your emotions to motivate learning. Accessing emotions while learning will help with remembering facts. It also is a way to be more creative in art!

    2. I think the biggest problem with trying to control emotions is the fact that some kids don't know how. They bottle them up and then explode, think the only option is suicide, or are uncontrollably emotional.

    3. I agree with you. I think that it is important that we help students learn how to express their emotions in a healthy way.

  6. I agree with AM, but one thing I have noticed is that none of the students in my placement show any emotion besides angry or not caring. How do you get a student to show his or her emotion?

    1. That is actually a really good question Sheika. One way I have tried is just by doing CPS and talking to them because that is the only time they show me their true emotions and what is going on with them.

  7. What strategies can you use to create an environment that is less stressful to students? Also, are these strategies capable of being performed in the "real world?"

    1. Although time constraints can cause stress in some students I think that playing soft music for 15 minutes or so during independent work could create less stress. I also think that by adding in yoga or brain breaks into school would help with this.
